5 pm | Live @ The Frog Spot
The Roswell Sisters
The Roswell Sisters are a close-harmony vocal trio specializing in a combination of 30’s jazz and 60’s pop. From the shifting tempos and lightning fast key changes of the classic Boswell Sisters arrangements to brand new Boswell-style compositions culled from more recent hits, The Roswell Sisters offer an opportunity for some old-time harmonizing as well as some fresh, hip and totally modern pop. The old and new merge seamlessly in one exciting package!
Hollywood Blues Destroyer
Skip Heller’s Hollywood Blues Destroyers circle Americana. In Heller’s creative mind, he has the luxury 360-degree vision with respect to time. Heller draws heavily from the past while looking ahead and never losing sight of what’s going on. The Destroyers’ beyond jazz style delivers wholly authentic sound sealed by their distinctive horn section.
David Serby
One of LA’s most gifted singer-songwriters David Serby’s latest release represents a sharp left turn from the music that has acquired a loyal following among LA’s country fans. His first three albums – I Just Don’t Go Home (2006), Another Sleepless Night(2007) and Honky Tonk and Vine – flexed a brawling honky tonk sound in the grand West Coast manner. His most recent album, 2011’s Poor Man’s Poem, was a dark, acoustic-based folk cycle that still cleaved to Serby’s California-bred country roots.

Special Guest
Stella the Steelhead
FoLAR’s 2014 Los Angeles River cleanup inspired The FLOD Art Collective, a group of artists, poets, musicians, bike freaks, and river philosophers, to construct Stella, a large steelhead trout. It’s made from bamboo, palm, salvaged lumber, an extension ladder, baby jogger wheels, paper mache’, rags, paint, tomato cages, and washed out discards from the LA River.
Stella the Steelhead has Migrated to the Frog Spot for the summer – come and visit.
