We are so thankful for the incredible turnout and support that made the 2016 FoLAR Fandango such an amazing success! It was humbling to have gathered 30 outstanding advocates together for the unveiling of the Lewis P. MacAdams River Champion Award. The support from the Fandango makes our work possible year round.
We cannot be grateful enough to our sponsors and the inspiring performers and artists who shared their talents with the LA River community. Moby thrilled the crowd when he took the stage with the Jason McGee Gospel Choir and delivered an unforgettable performance!
The night was made even more spectacular by the Master of Ceremonies Nic Harcourt from KCSN 88.5 FM, singer-songwriter Mia Doi Todd, Electro-Soul Duo KANEHOLLER, DJ set by Kita Klane, Soul band Zach Alwin & Duck Funk as well as the exhibitions of four renowned Los Angeles River artists; Christian Kasperkovitz (ELKPEN), Ryan Patrick Griffin, Peter Bennett and Grove Pashley.
Of course, the heart of the evening was the unveiling of the Lewis P. MacAdams River Champion Award, a tribute to thirty members of the community and entities that have supported the organization for the past thirty years of L.A. River advocacy and revitalization. The honorees represent the passionate and diverse community that has made river restoration a major priority for the communities on the Los Angeles River.
Thank you again to everyone who made the 2016 FoLAR Fandango a success and here’s to another 30 years of successful activism for the Los Angeles River!
