03 Nov Vote Yes on Proposition HHH!
California Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin de Léon asks for your vote to support Proposition HHH.
There are an estimated 46,000 homeless in Los Angeles County. Two-thirds (over 26,000) are in the City of Los Angeles, up 11% from last year. Encampments, tents, and people living in vehicles across the county have increased by 20%. The majority of this increase are women (61%), who often are victims of violence and abuse. There is also an indication that individuals age 25 and younger will become a growing demographic. This is nothing short of a crisis.

If you’re wondering what the River has to do with homelessness, consider that the LA River has always housed a large population. Moreover, about 57% of homeless in LA live in River-adjacent districts. As the LA River gains more traction towards restoration, revitalization and recreation, the population that lives in and around the River must be provided effective and sustainable alternatives.
Prop HHH is the City of Los Angeles effort to address some of the problem by providing 8,000-10,000 units of permanent housing with supportive services. This proposition will allow the use of $1.2 billion over the course of 10 years to develop basic services and supportive housing to our homeless community members.
