Jessica is a Cuban-American communications professional with a background in biology, environmental studies, and science communications research. She has worked extensively as a strategic communicator, writer, and communications researcher in both higher education and non-profit spaces. She also reported on science stories as a AAAS Mass Media Fellow with the Dallas Morning News. With a passion for finding creative, meaningful, and data-driven ways to connect audiences with the world around them, Jessica is excited to work with the FoLAR team to advocate for the LA River and the diverse communities that surround it.
