03 Aug Rumble on the River!
Get ready for a rumble on the river with a free Muy Thai class with the Yard Muay Thai Kickboxing Gym this Sunday!
Check out the full Frog Spot schedule for this weekend (Sat 8/6 – Sun 8/7) is below:
10:00 AM | Los Angeles River Nature Walk
Join Frog Spot’s Naturalists on our daily guided tour along the Los Angeles River Bike Path launching from the Frog Spot. This is your chance to start exploring the hidden ecosystem that runs through the heart of Los Angeles, and ties us all together.
5:00 PM | Purgatory Pizza
Purgatory Pizza is giving back at The Frog Spot and slinging pizza pies by the slice – free with suggested donation. Purgatory Pizza is a neighborhood hot spot in Boyle Heights known for its baked-to-order pizza and calzones and its funky, hand-drawn decor.
5:00 PM | Rivoah
Native to the Los Angeles area, RIVOAH has been recording and performing together since early 2012. Known for energetic and infectious live performances, RIVOAH features two different styles of music: guitar driven, high-energy indie Rock’n’Roll paired with keyboard-fronted, melodic indie-dance-pop. The band recently released the self-produced single, “Hot Time To Dance” accompanied by a music video. RIVOAH is hard at work, writing songs and rehearsing, with an ear to the ground and their eyes on tomorrow.

6:00 PM | The Bottled Spirits
The Bottled Spirits are from Long Beach, CA. That’s not first place that comes to mind when you think about bluegrass. But the Bottled Spirits haven’t forgotten about California’s rich history of agricultural roving that brought hoards of musicians from the midwest to their sunny shores. The Spirits are bringing back the old twang of the banjo and the mountains of harmonious vocals to the folks of a modern California.
7:00 PM | LA River Bend
Grounded in folk roots, LA River Bend blends Motown inspired 3-part harmonies and melodic cello into the contemporary indie-rock scene. Their dynamic sets range from intimate, finger-pickin’ tunes to intense “wall of sound” build-ups. Yet, their tunes are always balanced by the laid back influences of Southern California music and lifestyle. They are currently recording their debut record “Run These Hills.”
8:15 AM | Sunday Morning Mindfulness Meditation
Join UCLA Certified Mindfulness Facilitator and Creativity Coach Jennifer Howd for Sunday morning mindfulness meditation. Each session will include guided meditation, silent practice time, and the opportunity for community sharing. Chairs will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own meditation cushion. There is a $5 donation at the time of class.

Join Evolve Sacred Healing at The Frog Spot for Vinyasa Yoga by the LA River. Yoga instructor Avalon Solange will teach a powerfully healing one-hour yoga session. Bring your own yoga mat.
