31 Aug Policy at the River – Thank You & Summary
Policy at the River: Staying Current on the LA River
Thank you to everyone who came out from far and wide to our event last Thursday! I also want to thank the Rivers and Mountains Conservancy, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, LA County Department of Public Works, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for their participation.
As a platform for connecting our community to the experts managing our parks and waterways, our second Policy at the River was a great success.
Our panelists brought a wealth of information regarding the many projects they manage. They also provided important perspective on their role within the vast network of management agencies, as well some insight into the policy directives that guide their work.
Similarly, the public came with many important questions regarding water quality & supply, homelessness, gentrification, flood control – all issues that have important linkages to our communities and the restoration and revitalization of our River.
