FoLAR & Other Key Non-Profits Oppose LA County’s Master Plan for the LA River
In less than 5 minutes, you can help oppose it too.
FoLAR’s mission is to build capacity for communities, students, and future leaders to advocate for nature, climate, and equity on the LA River. Today, we need your support to do that.
FoLAR is among a group of local organizations that joined a committee in 2018 to provide input on the County’s LA River Master Plan, in the hopes that the Plan would prioritize restoration efforts that support both the River and its surrounding communities, with respect for taxpayer dollars. Unfortunately, our input was largely ignored.
The proposed Plan being voted on reduces the role of the River to an anti-flood channel, and does not promote habitat restoration that provides climate resilience.
A key way for Angelinos to support our Great LA River and the diverse communities that live alongside it, is to submit a comment opposing the master plan being voted on. In just four quick steps and under 5 minutes, you can do your part. The deadline to submit comments is Monday, June 13 at 12pm PST.
- Tell the board of supervisors to oppose the LA River Master Plan using the steps below.
- Then, help spread the word and share these steps with fellow Angelinos.

Want to do more? Join FoLAR at a press conference on Tuesday, June 14 to show your continued support.
Immediately following the County’s vote on Tuesday, June 14 between 12-1 PM PST at Maywood Riverfront Park, FoLAR and several partner organizations have planned a press conference along the River to express our opposition to a Plan that sells the LA River and our fellow Angelinos short.
See you on the River!
