31 Jan Back for 2017: the Largest Urban River CleanUp in America
We’re gearing up for the return of America’s largest urban river clean up – our very own Great Los Angeles River CleanUp: La Gran Limpieza! The last two years in a row FoLAR has broken records – last year 9,000 volunteers came out to restore the LA River one trash bag at a time!
CleanUp 2017 is coming soon – sponsorships are available and registration opens soon at FoLAR.org/CleanUp.
The CleanUp runs all Earth Month with more than a dozen sites over three days. On April 15th we’ll clean the Upper River, on April 22nd the Mid River, and on April 29th we finish in the Lower River. Wherever you live on the LA River – from the San Fernando Valley to Glassel Park and all the way to the Pacific Ocean in Long Beach – there’s a CleanUp site near you!
With your help we’ll make history for the third consecutive year and break records again in 2017. FoLAR is counting on you to volunteer, bring your friends and family, to help us mobilize the entire LA River Community!
FoLAR is serious about restoring the Los Angeles River and that starts with the community mobilizing to take out the trash. This is the 28th annual Great Los Angeles River CleanUp, the biggest event on the LA River and the largest urban river clean up in America.
Our community is committed to restoring the River and they aren’t waiting for the big projects. They’re coming out this Earth Month in the thousands to take the future into their own hands by cleaning the River with FoLAR.
Registration opens soon so stay tuned and get ready to be part of the next – record breaking – Great Los Angeles River CleanUp!
