Lewis P. Macadams Sculpture and Commemorative Brick Program
There is no greater friend to the Los Angeles River than FoLAR’s founder Lewis MacAdams – poet, teacher, activist, and indisputably the River’s most influential advocate. To honor Lewis’ tireless work on behalf of his beloved River, we are thrilled to unveil a permanent public art sculpture at River-adjacent Marsh Park, now renamed Lewis MacAdams Riverfront Park. The sculpture, created by celebrated artist Eugene Daub, was officially unveiled in early 2018 in the newly renamed Lewis MacAdams Riverfront Park.
For our friends who have followed FoLAR’s journey from the beginning, and for those who are inspired into River stewardship by Lewis’ advocacy, we invite you to purchase a personalized commemorative brick for permanent placement around Lewis’ public art sculpture. Bricks are 4’’ x 8’’ and can be inscribed with your name and a message to Lewis, FoLAR or our beloved LA River. Your support of his historic efforts to revive the LA River will be visible to the public for generations to come.
Bricks are available for a donation of $1,000 payable in one sum or monthly. A commemorative brick is also a benefit for FoLAR sponsors and members of the Lewis P. MacAdams Giving Society.
