Stories of the Land: Chumash and Tataviam Traditions with Alan Salazar
Join us for a morning of storytelling and creative expression as Alan Salazar, an esteemed Elder of the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians (Chumash, Tataviam, and Pipimaram lineages), shares traditional Chumash and Tataviam stories passed down through generations.

Participants will engage in a hands-on jewelry making session, echoing the artistic traditions of these Indigenous cultures. FoLAR educators will also run a LA River educational activity.

Come prepared for a peaceful and inspiring experience at the amphitheatre and reserve. This is a unique opportunity to connect with the stories of the land and express our collective creativity through ancient forms of art.
