Stories of the Land: Chumash & Tataviam Traditions with Alan Salazar

Join us for a morning of storytelling and creative expression as Alan Salazar, an esteemed Elder of the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians (Chumash, Tataviam, and Pipimaram lineages), shares traditional Chumash and Tataviam stories passed down through generations.

Following the storytelling presentation, participants will engage in a hands-on rock art style painting session using natural ochre paints, echoing the artistic traditions of these indigenous cultures.

Come prepared for a peaceful and inspiring experience at the open-air pavilion. This is a unique opportunity to connect with the stories of the land and express our collective creativity through ancient forms of art.
