Red Car Pedestrian Bridge Grand Opening

January 25, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Join Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell at the grand opening of the Red Car Pedestrian Bridge! The event will take place on Saturday, January 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Red Car Park on Glendale Blvd at Ferncroft Road, on the south side of the Glendale-Hyperion Complex of Bridges. The event will feature a resource fair and performance by the John Marshall High School Jazz Band starting at 11:30 a.m., with the speaking program and ribbon cutting set to begin at 12:00 p.m.

The Red Car Bridge is one of four bridge projects taking shape along the Los Angeles River in the 13th District, connecting the river communities of Silver Lake and Atwater Village. The Red Car Bridge will provide much needed accessibility for pedestrians and other non-motorized uses during, which is especially important as we embark on a three year seismic retrofit and historic restoration of the Glendale-Hyperion Complex of Bridges. North Atwater Bridge will come online in the coming weeks, and Taylor Yard Bridge is expected to be completed in 2021.

If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact CD13’s Silver Lake/Atwater Village Field Deputy Mary Rodriguez at (213) 207-3015 or Mary.D.Rodriguez@lacity.org More information online on Facebook.
