Habitat Restoration Day

February 22, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Make a hands-on and immediate impact on our local urban ecosystem by joining FoLAR in restoring habitat in the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Refuge.

Come along on on a Bird Walk from 8AM -9AM beforehand, then join at 9AM to remove non-native plants as a part of a larger effort to improve the habitat in the Sepulveda Basin. We recommend you wear long pants, and close-toed shoes, since we’ll be in the vicinity of spiky plants. There will be water on site but please BRING YOUR OWN water bottle to help reduce waste!

FoLAR’s ongoing Bird Surveys continue to track the results of the Habitat Restoration efforts – we look forward to sharing our survey results with you!

Reserve Your Spot Here

Directions: You will enter from Woodley Ave. You will see signs for the Japanese Garden, and that is the street that you turn into. Also, keep an eye out for FoLAR signs. Once you turn in, you will make a slight right and follow the road all the way down. You will end at the parking lot where you may park. Walk further down the road from there towards the roundabout and you will see the LA River Rover, we will meet there.

This event is made possible in partnership with The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, Council for Watershed Health, California Native Plant Society, and San Fernando Valley Audubon Society.
