Friends of the Los Angeles River is LARiver’s leading independent voice and grassroots organization. Founded in 1986, FoLAR has been engaged in every aspect of the Los Angeles River from arts and culture to advocacy and restoration for nearly 30 years.

The mission is simple: bring the River to the people and the people to the River. From standing up for inclusive restoration plans to building public awareness through education and outreach FoLAR is leading the charge to create a swimmable, fishable, boatable, bikeable LA River for our community.
