There are several relevant factors, all of which need to be considered when interpreting the FNAC slide. At the training stage this is done systematically, and subsequently, after gaining experience, it becomes instinctive. The relative importance of different factors in the diagnostic process may vary. Most commonly, it is their combination that contributes to the final diagnosis. From the outset, one should learn to appreciate that everything in the slide is important. It is by careful observation and looking for particular details that a diagnosis will emerge.
