Location Specifics: Steelhead Park is located at the end of Oros Street, just north of Riverside Drive.

Thomas Guide page 594 H6

Description: Steelhead Park is one a series of about a dozen small parks along the LA River in the Glendale Narrows. Designed by North East Trees, the park features native vegetation, a small outdoor classroom, and artistic gates and fences commemorating the steelhead trout that used to be plentiful in the LA River. The river here is soft bottom, with tall trees and plenty of ducks, stilts, and other critters.

Special Notes: Limited parking - consider biking, taking transit, or carpooling.

DIRECTIONS:

Bike: Located at the downstream end of the unofficial bike path (actually an old access road - careful - some uneven surfaces!) downstream from the end of the Glendale Narrows LA River Bike Path.

Transit: Take Metro line 96 and get off at the corner of Elmgrove Street and Riverside Drive, then walk two blocks southeast to Oros. Alternately, take the Metro Gold Line and get off at Lincoln Heights/Cypress Park (Avenue 26) Station. Walk northwest two blocks on Avenue 26. Turn left on North Figueroa. Cross the Riverside/Figueroa Bridge, and continue upstream on the River two blocks to Steelhead Park at Oros Street.

Driving: Take the 5 Freeway. Exit at Stadium Way / Riverside Drive. Go southeast on Riverside Drive. Turn left at Oros Street.

Parking: Limited street parking on Oros, Blake, Riverside or other neighborhood streets.
