Description: Marsh Street is the newest Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy / Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority LA River mini-park, with its initial phase opening April 2006. The first phase is about 1 acre (of a planned 5-acre park) and features native landscaping, children’s play area and access to one of the nicest stretches of scenic soft bottom river. This year Marsh Park is going to be the official Bicycle site! We’re bringing the 6ft trailer to haul the bags from the River bank to the trash bin! Ride a bike and come CleanUp!
Special Notes: Limited parking - consider riding your bicycle!
DIRECTIONS:
Bike: Located just downstream of the 2 Freeway on the unofficial bike path (actually an old access road - careful - some uneven surfaces!) just downstream from the end of the Glendale Narrows LA River Bike Path.
Transit: Take Metro line 603 and get off at Ripple Street. Enter the river at the Great Heron Gate, and walk downstream past the 2 Freeway.
Driving: Exit the 5 Freeway at Stadium Way / Riverside Drive. Go northeast on Riverside Drive. Turn right onto Newell Street, then left on Ripple Street. Turn right on Marsh Street and proceed to the end of the street.
Parking: Park in the Janel Glass Factory lot at the very end of Marsh Street.
2009 CleanUp: 2.8 tons of trash (the most of all sites this year!)
