Join Executive Director Shelly Backlar for a walk along the recently restored Bull Creek in Sepulveda Basin. The ribbon cutting ceremony just happened at the end of May and we’re looking forward to exploring this project with you. Bull Creek runs through a heavily developed neighborhood north of the Sepulveda Basin. The final stretch before it meets the LA River is unpaved and represents an opportunity for native habitat for migrating birds. The recent restoration cleared invasive species and built pathways and bridges that will help visitors to view birds without disturbing them or their habitat.
Monthly River Walks are an opportunity for you to become a River expert, learning from a FoLAR staff member what it is that we love about the River, and how you can spread the word and help ensure a positive future for your River. We ask a $5 suggested donation for River Walks, but they are free for FoLAR members. Become a River Steward!
Meet at 4:30pm on Sunday, June 21st, just off Balboa Blvd, map below.
River Walks last for an hour and a half. Call 323.223.0585 or email Ramona at rmarks@folar.org with any questions. See map below for start location:
