Location Specifics: Bowtie Parcel is just south of the Fletcher Drive cleanup site, on the east side of the river.

Description: The Bowtie Parcel, named after its shape, is owned by California State Parks, and will be the site of a special US Army Corps of Engineers demonstration project that features concrete steps allowing partial habitat restoration and public access.  This site has a soft bottom and features ducks, egrets, and herons.

DIRECTIONS: Bike: Located at the downstream end of the Glendale Narrows LA River Bike Path.

Transit: Take Metro line 603 and get off at Ripple Street. Cross the bridge.

Driving: Take the 2 Freeway, exit San Fernando Road. Go northwest on San Fernando one block, then turn left onto Fletcher Drive.  South on La Clede.  Left on Carillion.  Right on Casitas.  Drive under 2 Freeway.  Pass Storage Business, and park in the Nelson-Miller parking lot.

Parking: General parking available at Nelson-Miller parking lot.  Pedestrian access to river through lot.   Limited additional parking continuing straight onto the dirt road pass Ranger T-gate on the actual Bowtie Parcel near lumber pile.
